David & I established Fendalton Eye Clinic in 1996. As the Business Manager at Fendalton Eye clinic my key role involves ensuring that the mission of the clinic to deliver excellence in patient care is something that the team strive for every day, in parallel with ensuring the wellbeing of each member of the team. We are grateful to our team of dedicated, caring professionals who share in our ethos. My time is spent leading the team, strategic planning, overseeing the team, developing and implementing ways to improve delivery of care. We have an inclusive work environment.
I grew up in Canterbury. Graduated as an optometrist from Auckland University in 1991. After graduation I worked as an optometrist in the Eye Department at Auckland Hospital, which gave me exposure to interesting & challenging ophthalmic conditions. In 1992 I studied in the UK and became a Member of British College of Optometrists. I worked as an optometrist in various locations in the UK and in the contact lens department of Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. In 1994 I worked at the Medical University of South Carolina, USA in ocular pathology & research. I then worked as an optometrist in private practice in Melbourne before returning to Christchurch in 1996.
Outside of work I enjoy yoga, walking in the Port Hills, snow skiing, golf and keeping track of five adult children.
