Dr Zea Munro, MBChB, PGDipOphthalBS (Distn.) is an internationally trained Refractive Surgeon who has been invited to join the Fendalton Eye Clinic with Dr David Kent, one of Australasia’s leading refractive surgeons.
A Christchurch local, Dr Zea Munro completed her medical degree at the University of Otago and her eye surgeon training throughout Australia and New Zealand under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Zea Munro then proceeded to undertake a Fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery with esteemed Cataract and Refractive Surgeon Associate Professor Michael Goggin at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University of Adelaide, in Adelaide, Australia. During this Fellowship Dr Zea Munro contributed to developing advancements in premium intraocular lens implant (IOL) calculation, including toric and multifocal IOLs, and novel applications of customised Laser Refractive Surgery. She has presented her work at a number of international conferences.
Following her Fellowship, Dr Zea Munro continued further Postgraduate training with world renowned Refractive and Cataract Surgeon Professor Sri Ganesh who has personally performed in excess of 75,000 refractive surgeries.
